Years after the manga and
anime ended in Japan rumors of a new Sailor Moon show began to spring
up. Eventually it became known that a live action version of Sailor
Moon
was to be produced by Toei. This Series was called Pretty Guardian
Sailor Moon. It adapted concepts from the Manga mostly and a
little from the anime, but still took things in its own direction.
Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon only lasted for one season. It
adapted the Qween Beryl arch.
Due to the fact that
Japenese woman only have black air, the girl's
didn't get their hair color from the anime until they hensined. Luna
was a talking stuff animal. Computer effects were used for the hensins
and attacks. A new Sailor Senshi named Sailor Luna was present.
The series can be
compared to Super Sentai, the long running action
series Toei has produced for thirty years. The same series Power
Rangers uses for its source material. Most feel that PRetty
Guardian wouldn't be able to be sold to an american audience ( at least
in the mainstream). Since you can't hire American Actors like
Power Rangers does ( the Senshi obviously don't wear masks like the
hereos do in Super Sentai). A dub would look strange just and unlikely
for children's televison.
